Privacy Policy

MeMyFood (“we”, “us”) is currently in a trial phase, offered free while we gather feedback. This is a plain-language summary of what the app stores and why. A fuller policy with company and registration details will be published before we introduce paid features. You can reach us any time through the contact page.

• Account data — your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), plus sign-in timestamps.
• Profile & preferences — calorie and macro targets, weight goal, cuisine and flavour preferences, country/region and language.
• Allergy information — the allergens you choose to save so the app can flag them. This is health-related data and we treat it as sensitive.
• Content you create — scans and their results, generated and saved recipes, meal plans, shopping baskets and intake entries.
• Photos you scan — label and barcode images you submit are sent for analysis to produce a result. We do not use your photos to train models.
• Technical data — request logs, error reports, device/browser type and approximate region, used to keep the app working and secure.
• Messages — anything you send us via the contact form, including your name and email, so we can reply.

• To provide the app (accounts, scans, recipes, dashboard) — performance of our contract with you.
• To flag allergens — your explicit consent, given when you add an allergy to your profile. You can withdraw it at any time by removing the entry, and the flagging feature simply stops applying.
• To keep the service secure and debug faults — our legitimate interests.
• To reply to your messages — our legitimate interests in supporting users.

We use service providers who process data only to run the app: our cloud hosting and application platform, our managed database and sign-in provider, the AI model provider that interprets label photos and generates recipes, and our email provider. Some of them operate outside the UK/EEA.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

Account, profile, allergy and content data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, the associated records are deleted. Contact-form messages are kept while they are needed to resolve your query. Technical logs are short-lived.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis. You can edit most of your data yourself on the profile page, or ask us through the contact page and we will respond within one month.

MeMyFood is not intended for children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account (16 in countries where that is the local minimum age for consent).
